ShadA Juno-award winning artist, Shad is one of Canada’s most revered rappers, a peerless wordsmith who embodies hip-hop’s power to entertain, educate and express the fullness of humanity through art. Born in Kenya to Rawandan parents, and raised in London, Ontario, Shad is the former host of CBC Radio’s flagship arts and culture program “Q” and holds a Masters Degree in Liberal Studies from Simon Fraser University. His 2018 concept-album, “A Short Story About a War” was shortlisted for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize and the lyrical depth of his music well-noted in the music industry and beyond. Carrie DoehringCarrie Doehring is a minister in the Presbyterian Church, USA (PCUSA) and professor of pastoral care at Iliff School of Theology in Denver. She was ordained in 1978 in the Presbyterian Church in Canada and served two congregations in Ontario, Canada for nine years, and a UCC congregation in Boston for seven years part-time. She is also a licensed psychologist. She is the author of 57 chapters and articles, and three books. She is co-editor of Military Moral Injury and Spiritual Care: Resources for Religious and professional Leaders (Nashville: Chalice Press, 2019). She is serving on the ACPE learning outcomes committee.
