What is Spiritual Health Awareness Week?
Health encompasses the whole person: the mind, the body, the emotions and the human spirit. However, Western society privileges the physical, mental and emotional needs of people, often minimizing the spiritual aspect. Let us collectively raise awareness that effective care must be holistic and include human spirituality. Just as society addresses and values the physical, mental and emotional dimension of people, the spiritual dimension of individuals should also be addressed and valued.
2024 Campaign Theme: Breaking The Myths
Despite its extensive and vital role across diverse professional settings spiritual care and psychospiritual therapy remain among the most misunderstood professions in Canadian society. Members of CASC/ACSS frequently encounter misconceptions and false assumptions regarding their work. This year, our goal is to clarify, demystify, and educate our communities about our profession by breaking the myths surrounding spiritual care and psychospiritual therapy.
